"Stillness Articulated" — an evolving practice where
process, material & intention converge.
Artist, visionary and the creative force behind Arpan Karma Foundation — Sima Patel's belief that art is inseparable from compassion and giving has shaped a foundation where every brushstroke becomes an act of social purpose.
Follow Her Work
Sima Patel's creative journey began at the age of eight — a spark that lay quietly within her for decades as life took her through different paths. She studied Chemistry to support her family business, pursued a PGDCA to stay current, and devoted years to being a dedicated homemaker.
Then in 2015, she translated a vision onto canvas — and the artist within her awakened. What began as a personal rediscovery quickly became a calling. She formally pursued Fine Arts in Ahmedabad, focusing on modern and commercial styles, and has since created over 100 artworks across a range of mediums and series.
Her preferred medium is acrylics, though she works freely across oils, charcoal, and her distinctive coffee paints. Each work is, in her words, a deep dive into her own emotions — an honest conversation between the artist and the canvas.
"Art is a necessity — an essential part of our enlightenment process."
"The collection represents a dialogue between form, texture and emotion. Each work invites contemplative reflection — where art evokes deeper thought through subtle layers and composition, transforming canvas into a timeless expression of energy, beauty and meaning."
Each series is a distinct exploration — of womanhood, philosophy, spirituality and the act of giving — expressed through her unique artistic language.
A deeply introspective series that explores the inner world of the modern woman — her struggles, her strength and her capacity to transcend societal limitations. Each work acknowledges that suppressing emotions disservices the soul, and affirms the power within every woman to rise beyond constraints.
Rooted in Vedantic philosophy, Tatvamasi — meaning "Thou Art That" — explores the profound oneness of the individual self with universal consciousness. This series invites the viewer into a meditative space where boundaries dissolve and the canvas becomes a mirror of the infinite.
An exploration of the boundless, eternal nature of the self. Anantman journeys beyond the finite — through form, colour and texture — into a space where art transcends the visual and becomes an experience of the limitless potential within every being.
Drawing from ancient sacred geometry, the Shree Yantra series channels the divine energy of one of Hinduism's most revered symbols. Through Sima Patel's artistic interpretation, these works serve as both visual meditation and a bridge between the spiritual and the aesthetic.
The Arpan series is the soul of Sima Patel's connection to charitable giving. Arpan — meaning "offering" or "dedication" — is the series from which Arpan Karma Foundation draws its name and its spirit. Each work in this series is an act of giving — an offering of creative energy in service of society and humanity.
Beyond her named series, Sima Patel's work spans a wide range of styles and subjects — from the earthly and natural to the historic and spiritual. Each canvas is a new conversation, a fresh exploration of the world as she sees and feels it.
"Art is a necessity — an essential part of our enlightenment process."

"art of giving"
An initiative by Sima Patel
The Foundation's very name — Arpan — is drawn directly from one of Sima Patel's own art series. Arpan means "offering" or "dedication" — and it is this spirit that unites her life as an artist with her mission as the visionary behind Arpan Karma Foundation.
The logo itself — "art of giving" — is her creative expression made tangible: a tree of life, the moon, celestial symbols and flowing forms, all contained within an arched frame that represents the Foundation's belief in the interconnectedness of all life.
Through Art for a Cause, Sima Patel channels every dimension of her creative identity — artist, woman, philanthropist — into the work of the Foundation. Art exhibitions, charity events, creative collaborations and art-led fundraising are the instruments through which giving becomes beautiful.
Collaborate with UsArtistic works and exhibitions raise awareness about social causes — drawing attention to the realities faced by underprivileged communities and inspiring audiences to act with greater empathy and responsibility.
Art-led initiatives and events provide opportunities for charitable fundraising — where the beauty of creative work is shared with the world and proceeds are channelled directly into social welfare activities.
Creative expression can be profoundly therapeutic. Art programmes within communities provide individuals — especially children and those facing hardship — with a meaningful outlet for self-expression and healing.
Art has the unique ability to bring people together across different backgrounds and experiences. Art-led community programmes foster connection, belonging and a shared sense of purpose and identity.
Arpan Karma Foundation envisions a range of art-led charitable initiatives that bring together artists, communities, patrons and philanthropists in shared acts of giving and social responsibility.
From art exhibitions and creative workshops to charity auctions and community art projects — the Foundation is committed to developing programmes where art becomes a living, breathing expression of our collective responsibility to each other and to society.
As these initiatives evolve, they will be showcased here — each one a story of creativity meeting compassion, and of giving in its most beautiful form.
